Our Story
DBB was conceived in the heat of the Covid-19 pandemic. In all the uncertainty and upheaval at that point in time, I took a leap of faith and invested myself into a passion project, now known as DRAPED BY BAVA.
In the initial stages prior to my first launch, I dedicated months to researching and connecting with various manufacturers and designers across India, seeking the perfect collaboration partner for my Valentine's collection.
My journey took me through countless virtual meetings, sample quality testing and deep dives into textile traditions. Finally, I discovered a remarkable partner who shared my vision and together, we crafted a collection of satin sarees, each piece a work of art with a glossy finish that beautifully reflected light, capturing the romance and elegance I envisioned for this special collection.
When the orders started pouring in, what began as a single-person venture soon evolved into a dedicated three-person team. My house transformed into a mini factory, where my parents and I worked in assembly lines to fulfill orders and pack sarees together.
Who would have thought a small business like mine would have allowed for the perfect monthly
stay-home bonding activity?

As the founder, I've poured my heart into every aspect of this venture — from managing social media marketing, orchestrating campaigns to handling accounts and nurturing customer relationships.
This journey has brought me unexpected and cherished opportunities. I've made many meaningful friendships, collaborated with passionate artists and business owners, and had the joy of dressing celebrities, brides and bridesmaids.

Most importantly, I grew my own family of well-wishers who had believed in us from the very beginning.

A passion project has now turned into a brand with a soul of its own. For the past four years, I've been riding the shifts in the fashion industry. Today, my focus as a Singaporean brand is on Sustainability, Creativity and Tradition. Watch this space for what’s in store!
